n/aThe taxi tariff in Köln is made up of several components that determine the total fare for a ride. Every taxi journey in Köln starts with a base fare of 4.90€. This base fare is applied once the ride begins.
After the base fare, the fare increases based on the distance travelled. For the first 7 kilometers, the price per kilometer is 2.60€. If the journey is longer than 7 kilometers, each additional kilometer is charged at 2.20€. This means that the farther you travel, the per-kilometer price will be slightly lower after the initial 7 kilometers.
If the taxi has to wait during your ride, for example due to traffic jams or stopovers, a waiting time charge applies. The waiting time is charged at a rate of 30.00€ per hour. This amount is added to the total fare if applicable.
In Köln, it is also possible to agree on a fixed price before your ride. This can be done by telephone or through a taxi app. The fixed price must not be more than 20% higher or 5% lower than the fare that would normally apply for the journey according to the current tariff.
