n/aThe Rom taxi tariff sets clear rules for how taxi fares are calculated. During the day, from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm, each ride starts with a base fare of €3.00. For the first 7 kilometers, the price is €1.10 per kilometer. After this, each additional kilometer is charged at €1.60. If your journey includes a segment of 1 km outside the main range, this kilometer costs €1.30. If the taxi has to wait for you, the waiting time is charged at €27.00 per hour.
At night, from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am, the Rom taxi tariff uses a different rate. The night base fare is €6.50. The first 5 kilometers are charged at €1.10 per kilometer. The €1.30 rate applies to a single kilometer as specified above. For any distance beyond that, the fare is €1.60 per additional kilometer. The waiting time rate stays the same at €27.00 per hour.
Some airport rides have fixed prices under the Rom taxi tariff. The fare for a one-way trip between Fiumicino Airport and the city center (within the Aurelian Wall) is €48.00. For a ride between Ciampino Airport and the city center, the fixed fare is €30.00. These prices include luggage and all fees.
Passengers pay the base fare when the ride begins, then an additional cost per kilometer based on the total distance traveled. For airport rides with a fixed price, passengers pay the set amount. Waiting times are added if the taxi is held up during the ride. All charges are listed in EUR (€) and include all required taxes and fees, making the fare structure easy to understand.
